Although rumors of the White Wolf of the Woods have been heard for nearly a decade, it wasn’t until Ren was kidnapped that Zuiko revealed himself to the public. His mother, who lived in the woods by herself, died years ago, forcing Zuiko to fend for himself ever since. His sole connections to civilization were the hunters Yao and Pei and his infatuation with Ren.

Now hailed as a hero by the Oxlord and freed of the debt his mother owed him, Zuiko has decided to help the others fulfill Ren’s request to save Sen. As he travels with them, he learns more about civilization, while revealing more of his past and some of the questions surrounding it: Who was his father? Why did his armor have the runes of Eoria’s people? Why did his mother owe a debt to the Oxlord? And why was she living alone in the woods?
